Nuts
Hi yall! The work is going! This is the best work in the world. Delis is ready for her baptism on the 28th.
I'm still in the beautiful trio with Hermana Henderson and Hermana Martinez.
We recently went to the temple and Hermana Martinez started her family history work and I love family history! You feel so connected to who you are and the blessings you have in life.
I've been trying my best to journal each day so I actually know what to put in there haha!
Highlight Reel:
-Sister Martinez tripped
-We live right next to a cemetery and Hna Martinez hates hates hates them, especially the spirits 👻👽 so sometimes we say "Espíritus, Espíritus, Hna Martinez está aquuuiiiiii". Which basically means "Spirits, Spirits, Sister Martines is here". She always will respond saying "shut the heck up" in her adorable Dominican accent. Witchcraft is pretty common in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 so... watch out.
-We were in a lesson with Nancy and we were teaching her about how to understand the spirit better. Then, a thought came to my head to tell her that she should "write down how she saw God's hand every day". And after I told her that, she told me how she had been thinking about that a lot recently. It's always amazing when we follow spiritual promptings.
-We had exchanges and all I learned was that me and Sis Tyler are actually the same person and we make fun of eachother relentlessly.
-Irma and her lil 2 year old got a blessing and she started crying. She knows the church is true but she can't go to church because of her husband. It is so hard and it breaks our heart to see, but we know she has the faith and that is truly the most important part.
- we were walking and saw this beautiful front yard decorated with all different types of Rocks. We talked to the owner about it for like 30 minutes. Then she gave us this rocks called Moki Marbles. They are a tiny piece of iron that has been rolled and rolled and rolled into sand for 500,000 years. I know my Nana would love that! She also had a Moose Mailbox. 😄
-We ran into a sweet lady named Dulce. I thought she spoke Spanish but she actually speaks portugués.... which I don't know. But she gave us some of the best chicken I have ever had in my entire life.
-We finally met hna Morales who we have been trying to meet for the past hmmm.... 5 months. FINALMENTE!
-During Sacrament meeting they announced Delis' baptism and she stood up and waved and was so excited. It was genuinely super cute!
Oh and why is my title nuts? Because we are walking and someone is spraying painting everywhere the word "Nuts" we think it's so cute because maybe he is a construction worker and is really passionate about his job. Or maybe he is trying to reduce profanity by saying "Aw Nuts". Sorry Mom I'd you didn't like it.
And with transfers... I am staying here in wejo :)) sister Henderson is leaving but sis martienez is staying with me!!!!
The whole 8 months I've been out I've only had 3 companions. And I've been so blessed.
Spiritual thought:
Alma 56:47
"Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them."
Mother's day just passed and I can genuinely say that my mom had done exactly that for me. She taught me so much. But the most important being that God would deliver me from my trials. But not only that, he will deliver me from the pain of mortal life. And most of all, Christ delivered us from "the chains of death" because we will all be resurrected.
