The Best Work in the World

 Hi friends,

I hope all is well with yall. Okay so... where to start.
RIGOBERTO GOT BAPTIZED LAST SUNDAY AND RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST YESTERDAY!!!!
It was honestly one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever been apart of. Rigoberto was studying to be a Catholic priest, but he realized it wasn't God's true church so he sought out the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He came specifically to Utah for that reason. He told us that ever since he started coming to church he could feel the spirit, and whenever we are around He feels it too.
We were so blessed to teach him. I asked him to sign my Spanish Bible and he helped me find his favorite scriptures in there. He then asked us to sign his and his hymn book.
His family is still stuck in Venezuela but keep them in your prayers, hopefully Rigo will be united with his family once again!
We are also teaching Delis and everytime we teach her something new she says "wow I didn't know that, that's amazing"
Whether it's about God's plan for us, or the Book of Mormon, or a living day prophet. She loves God and sought out to live in Utah because she felt compelled to come here.
And our other people are amazing. But I don't have time to write about them
Now for some crazy experiences:
-We met a man and we asked what his name was... he said the devil. We then talked for a while and he said he had no chance of joining any religion because he doesn't believe in God. We told him that's okay. He told us he grew up on the streets and was in Jail for 20 years so when it's his time, he will know. Sister Henderson told him that you won't know until you put the effort in and gave him a book of mormon. He threw it away.
-After transfers I got put into a trio with Sister Henderson still and Sister Martinez is now with us. This is crazy because Hendy and Martin were comps, then I was comps with Martin, then I was comps with Hendy, and now we are all together. Awwww.
-we are walking everywhere and we walk about 4 or 5 miles everyday so just wait until I get fit again yall... my abs will come back.
-We got a pet, named Waldo. He isn't actually a pet. He is a squishy duck looking thing. Anyway we named him Waldo, and I love him. He only speaks spanish. Well we lost waldo one day and I kept screaming "WHERES WALDO WHERES WALDO?!" it was so scary. Well when we got back to our appartment, Sister Henderson had Waldo on her head and started laughing. I was livid. And to make matters worse, we were on the phone with our district leader... a couple minutes later me and sister Henderson were wrestling. We stopped because we heard the phone ringing. When we looked at it and no one had called. Then about 10 minutes later we get a knock at the Door, and it is our district leader. He asked if everything was okay and we said yes and asked him why. He then told us that our homeowners had called them because it "sounded like we were possed by demons". We laughed and asked then what they thought had happened and they said "well sister Reynolds seemed pretty mad on the phone...."
They thought I had killed Sister Henderson...
Anyway spiritual thought:
I have been reading a book called the Grace to Become by Emily Belle Freeman. If you like to read, this is a good one.
She talks about how there are 2 times of Graces.
The first when we need a bandage over our wounds. When we need our wrongs to be righted. When we need comfort in our darkest hour. The grace to Overcome.
The other is a kind of grace that elevates us. It allows us to learn and develop and become better. The grace to Become.
The grace to overcome is where Christ meets us where we are, as we are. But the Grace to Become is the kind where we meet Christ where He is, as He is.
Yes Christ descended below them all. But he has the power to lift us up higher than we could alone.
He stretches us to become better. More charitable. Kind. Loving.
"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God … and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire and which will make us more like our Father and Mother in heaven”
