New Area, New Trials
Hey Folks,
Well this week has been amazing. We saw some Goats, tried a lot of new Restaurants, starting teaching some people in this area, and did a ton of walking
The hardest part about this area is we don't have any bikes or a car. So we are just walking everywhere. Sometimes it feels like we are wasting time because we spend at least 45 minutes everynight walking. But it feels so great to move my body again, so I am honestly not complaining.
Also because we both are new to this area we are contacting tons of people, and trying to knock tons of doors to see if they are still interested. Most of them are, but none of them truly seem super ready to jump into the waters of baptism.
Conversion is definitely a process.
Also I am in quarantine. Again. We both have the booster, but have been exposed and are trying to keep others safe. Thankfully I am quarantined with someone with the exact same sense of humor as me. So it is simply a bunch of potty jokes, memes, and making fun of eachother. It is honestly so so so much fun, and I am so grateful because we have way more time to study. And I have loved studying the scriptures.
Spiritual Thought:
Lets talk about apathy and why it is so destructive...
Apathy isn't not doing something, but it is doing it without any drive behind it. Like if you are doing your homework but aren't really trying. Singing a sing without breath support. You could be saying your prayers every morning and night and reading your scriptures.
But without a full heart, a fully intention... you end up just staying in the same place. Why is that staying in the same place?
Well I like to think that we are running up an escalator going downward. And at a certain point, we get tired. And we just start walking. Now that doesn't mean we are going down, but it means that we aren't actually going to get anywhere.
How does the Law of Entropy play into this? Well if you want to know more about this... google it. But basically it states that chaos will ensue and will only grow stronger over time. This is the reason people age, building decay, etc. But it can relate to our everyday life too. If we are apathetic about our personal studies or prayers, then the Law of Entropy will eventually overtake us, and we will fall back. Fall back on old habits, temptations, etc.
So I invite all of you to look into your life, and find what you are apathetic about. Whether it is your relationship with yourself, or friends or family. Or even with God. And begin Acting instead of being acted upon
Love ya'll always
Hermana Reynolds :)
