Hi friends 😄
Soooo I never know where to start...
We went to a Venezuelan restaurant. That was awesome. I got a hoodie that said "Are you YETI for Christmas?" It makes me very very happy. We are teaching a lot of people. Most of the Latinos I have met have seen a vision or an angel. It is insane.
Most of the people here are from Venezuela. It is crazyyyyy there. We learned that if you didn't get this certain shot, you would SHOT. mhm. And it is so hard to get clean water. These are some of the humbliest people I have ever met. They are trying to learn English, and i am trying to learn spanish so they are very grateful and kind to me because of it.
I love latinos so much. Anytime something Good happens they said "Gracias a Dios" which just means "Thanks to God". They are the best. Ugh I love them so much. We listened to one member and just shared a scripture with her, and she cried. And then i cried. Mourning with those who mourn is one of my talents for sure haha. But the next day she gave us flowers.
On another note, we went hiking this morning, and there was ice. And i fell on my butt a lot. So that is exciting woohooo. I am bruised.
Also my testimony in spanish is small. And if I dont know what to say... i will say something like this.
My spanish is bad, so my testimony will be short. Please forgive me, but my testimony of Jesus Christ is Great in my heart.
I know that Jesus Christ is our redeemer and Savior. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and is the word of God. I know it is another testament of Jesus Christ. And, i know that Jesus Christ lives
And that testimony... has made people cry. So I must be doing something rihht.
Here is your spiritual thought:
In 2 Nephi 26: 15 it says "and the prayers of the faithful shall be heard"
It just adds to what I said last week. God always hears our prayers. Always.
In Verse 24 it says
"He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him."
Christ loved each of us. Individually. Perfectly. Flaws and all. I have been measuring my worth on Godly standards instead of worldy standards. And I have never felt happier. Knowing that because I am a child of God, I am enough. More than enough.
And in verse 33
"and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile."
As a missionary I have been looking at everyone as a divine child of God. Someone he created specifically for this world. And itd beautiful. Everyone, no matter who you are, what you have done, where you came from, what you look like; God loves them. Every. Single. Person. He denies no one. He wont deny anyone.
And lastly. In 2 Nephi 21: 3-4 (compare to Isaiah 11)
"And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked."
We have no right to judge. We dont know anyones perspective. We haven't felt what they have gone through. We don't know why they are the way that they are. Bur Christ does. And he judges with mercy, not with hatred, or malice. And not as the world sees it, but as God sees it, with an eternal perspective
Love you forever
